Building Design Workshop is a Practice based on quality, sustainability, energy conservation and over 40 years of experience.

James Groux is a well established and respected chartered architect who is recognised as a leading expert in the field of accommodation needs and construction defects. (See www.expertsbdw.com) In addition he heads up Building Design Workshop with experience in award winning architecture and a deep knowledge of many building types and technology, having run a construction company during the noughties.

Much of the practices work is residential and hotel / leisure as can be seen from the images. Experience in commercial and education is also promoted. With this in mind James managed the project and construction of the first passive house plus primary school in the UK which received a coveted RIBA award.

As well as mainstream architecture the practice also offers a depth of skill as Principal Designers under both Construction Design and Management regulations and the Building Safety Act 2022. Clients can expect an in depth understanding of these regulations as well as on site project management monitoring with reference to Building Regulations management and Health and Safety.
